In Genneia we know about generation: we design, build and operate renewable generation facilities high efficiency and reduced environmental impact. And now also we provide them with proper maintenance staff up to the best industry practices. Until today, maintaining all of our wind farms was provided by staff technologist (firm responsible for the manufacture, installation and testing of wind turbines), under maintenance contracts full service .
The opportunity to start a maintenance in house was at Trelew Wind Farm -one of our centers of wind generation in Chubut- with the end of the maintenance contract with the technologist in 2019. Throughout that year, a group of own technicians were trained to take on the challenge and the results were not long in coming: the brand new maintenance team the Trelew park already has to his credit several repairs up tower , an improvement of 8 days response times.
Genneia concentrates its greater volume of wind power in the Node Madryn, currently operating 142 wind turbine generators (WTG for its acronym in English, Wind Turbine Generator) divided into 7 wind farms that concentrate 410 MW of the 580 MW that we have operational at company level . They represent more than one third of the nearly 1500 MW currently installed in the country. Within this large fleet is the wind farm Trelew: Opened in 2013, its 17 Alstom ECO 1000 wind turbines generate clean energy to supply 64,000 households and save 130,000 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
