Know the journey along the country of this majestic component which permitted the operation of a wind turbine of Genneia Rawson Wind Farm

_____

Great results means great efforts, like the efforts for the operation of renewable energy in our country. In April this year, an incredible storm damaged one blade of 51 wind turbine of our Rawson Wind Farm; in order to have it functioning again, Genneia made a unique operation: move a replacement of this 49 meter long component and sensitive materials from the City of Calama, north of Chile, to the south of Argentina.

The journey started on October 18 and took 15 days along which the convoy went across more than 3300kms, which included crossing the frontier Chile-Argentina through Paso Jama and sort out the so beautiful and sinuous “mountain range snails”, along sand roads, rolling stones and marshes. Not forgetting permissions and protocols which required the way through a national frontier and eight provinces within the pandemic context.

There was also communication plan to report neighbouring communities about the movement of the blade to minimize the operative impact in their mobility and daily routines.

Finally, on October 30 the blade reached Rawson, Chubut province, and the following days it was performed the operative assembly to replace the damaged blade. This work included the collaboration of about 40 people, the assembly of the crane to take out the current blade and the placement of the new one.

Here a brief of the unforgettable journey:
