San Juan, February 7, 2022. The Argentine Cabinet Chief, Juan Mazur, the Governor of San Juan, Sergio, Uñac, the President of YPF, Pablo González and the Chairman of Empresa Provincial de Energía (EPSE), Juan Carlos Caparrós, among other federal and provincial authorities, visited Genneia, the leading renewable energy generation company in the country.

The delegation was welcomed by Gustavo Castagnino, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Director at Genneia; Nicolás Fischer, the Ullum Solar Farm Manager; and other company executives. During the tour, the officers talked with Genneia’s experts about the operation of the farm, consisting of 283,000 solar modules, and about the experience gathered over the 3 years since its start-up.

“We are very proud of having at our Ullum Solar Farm the federal and provincial authorities, the YPF and EPSE principals to share our experience and expertise in the operation of a solar photovoltaic farm, in a context of new investments that will double our solar installed capacity in San Juan, in support of one of the pillars of provincial growth and development,” said Gustavo Castagnino from Genneia.

In this vein, Genneia maintains its leadership culture, constructing the new Solar Photovoltaic Project Sierras de Ullum, to be located in the south-central area of the Province of San Juan with an installed capacity of 80 MW, equivalent to the supply to 50,000 households. The site chosen for erection extends over 100 hectares and is located on National Route 54. The solar farms Ullum I, II and III are located in the same area with an installed capacity of 82 MW.

During construction, the project will employ 400 people directly and will consist of 150 thousand state-of-the-art bifacial solar modules, which will capture the energy directly from sunlight and also from the reflection on the ground, thus increasing energy generation by 6%.

The company has invested over 1.1 billion dollars in 18 renewable projects in the last 4 years and it has added 60 million dollars in this new project, going for growth in the challenging corporate market.
