A carbon credit refers to a certified unit of GHG mitigation, equivalent to one ton of CO₂. They can be issued and commercialized by projects and private ventures that have certified their contribution to reducing GHG emissions. For example, our renewable centers.

There are different international standards for issuing carbon credits. Each standard has its own name for its credits: for example, Certified Emission Reductions (CERs) are associated with the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) with the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), and Verified Carbon Credits (VCCs) with the Biocarbon Standard.

At Genneia, we market Verified Carbon Units (VCUs), carbon credits certified under Verra's Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) program and Biocarbon's Verified Carbon Credits (VCC) program. The wind farms certified to issue VCUs are Pomona I-II, Villalonga I-II, Chubut Norte I-II (Genneia Wind) and Ullum I-II-III (Genneia Solar), and those certified to issue VCCs are Tocota III and Sierras de Ullum (Genneia Solar).
