We offer Certified Emission Reduction (CER), also called “carbon bonds”, to those companies and organizations interested in reducing its carbon track or complying with its commitments of compensation of gas emissions of greenhouse effect. (GHG)
What is
CER?
CER is a tradable certificate that represents a certain amount of carbon units which have been reduced (VCUs), Verified Carbon Units). They can be issued and commercialized by all those private projects and business that have certified their contribution to the reduction of gas emissions of greenhouse effect.
Why does
Genneia sell them?
Our renewable centers contribute to the reduction of GHG and have obtained the registration to issue CERs under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Changes (UNFCCC) and under the voluntary emission reduction market, Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), after a rigorous process of certification of its reductions and its economic, social and environmental management.
Why
choose
Genneia
We count on certificates of reduction of emissions in both markets (MDL and VCS) and are in capacity to issue certificates equivalent to 500,000 tons of CO2 per year. In addition, we have energy tracking certificates under the IREC Standard protocol.
We have carried out the largest CER sales operations in recent years, including the sale of 270,000 VCUs to Natura through which the cosmetics company neutralized its emissions generated in Argentina between 2013 and 2016 and 2020 and 2022. In total, we have more than 1.5 million CO2 comings.
We were pioneers: with certified savings of 204,000 t of CO2 emissions per year, our Rawson Wind Farm was the first large-scale centre in Argentina enabled by VCS to issue CERs.
To date, Genneia has certified the Rawson I and II Wind Farm, Pomona I and II, Villalonga I and II, Chubut Norte I and II to issue VCS. In turn, the Ullum Solar Park was the first Argentine solar park registered to issue CERs.
On the other hand, the Rawson III and Madryn Wind Farms are enabled to issue IRECs.
