Placed at a 1500-hectare field, the Rawson Wind Farm comes out from 3 constructive projects: Rawson I, II and III. Rawson I and II, born within the program GENREN and has been active since 2012, being the first Genneia large-scale wind farm.
Rawson III was originated within the framework of Sales to Private and Great Users and was protagonist of the first sale agreement of renewable energy between private entities in the country, signed by Genneia and Loma Negra in 2017.
With a certified saving of 180,000 t of C02 emissions per year, our Rawson Wind Farm was the first large scale centre of Argentina authorized by the organization Verified Carbon Standard to issue Reduction Emissions Certificates.
The load factor of Rawson Wind Farm is among the highest in the world, in all stages of the centre:
- Rawson I: 42%
- Rawson II: 42%
- Rawson III: 49,2%
The load factor is the relation between the energy effectively generated by a farm along a period of time and the maximum it would be possible to produce in ideal conditions, along the same period of time. It is about not only the quality of wind but also the good performance and availability of the technology in the farm thanks to the best practices of operation and maintenance.
