Chubut Norte II, III and IV are gradually leaving behind its status as "projects" to become Genneia´s brand new wind farms that will generate clean energy for more than 170 thousand Argentine homes. The mechanical assembly of it´s 38 wind turbines is almost completed, and has already begun commissioning and testing individually the generation of some mills.
After this test, it will only remain to perform the tests with all mills working together to achieve commercial operation. This promising outlook augurs the start of the operation of the projects in early 2021: Chubut Norte IV in January, Chubut Norte III in February, and Chubut Norte II in March.
The Chubut Norte project has four construction stages, the first one (Chubut North I, 29MW) already completed and operational since December 2018. As for the stages under construction, Chubut North II (26MW) was originated under a contract of sale to private or large users.
For the development of Chubut Norte III and IV (140 MW) on the other hand, Genneia associated with Pan American Energy and obtained financing of US $ 97 million in the form of Project Finance, awarded by the German development bank KFW, with the guarantee of German agency for export credits Euler Hermes.
