Buenos Aires, January 31, 2023. Genneia, the groundbreaking renewable energy generation company, generated 20% of the renewable wind and solar energy in Argentina in 2022. Hence, it positions itself once again as the leading company in the industry, while retaining its position among the 15 largest clean energy generation companies in South America.

According to data provided by CAMMESA, Genneia generated a total of 3,424,595 MWh of solar and wind power, equivalent to consumption of approximately 900,000 households, from its 7 wind farms and one solar farm. In this way, the company continues reaffirming its active role in clean energy generation while avoiding the emission of more than 1,500,000 tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

March was the month with the highest generation volume, with a total record of 313,993 MWh and the Madryn Wind Farm, the largest farm in Argentina, was Genneia’s operating plant with the largest record in the year: 951,571 MWh of clean energy. In this way, Genneia continues leading the renewable energy market with a 17% share of the total installed capacity, consisting of 23% wind power generation and 7.5% solar power.

“We are proud of the work carried out by Genneia’s team over the last decade, retaining our leadership position in the industry and holding to our strong commitment to fighting climate change and promoting energy transition,” said Gustavo Castagnino, Director of Corporate, Regulatory Affairs and Sustainability |ESG at Genneia. “We will continue working to add value and strengthen our good practices so that Genneia may continue to be a role model in the field of renewable energies in our country and the emission of green instruments, such as carbon credits, I-RECs and green bonds,” he concluded.

Sticking to its leadership culture, the company is close to inaugurating its second photovoltaic generation plant, the Sierras de Ullum Solar Farm (80MW) thus reaching an installed capacity of 944MW of renewable power. Also, it has recently announced investments in the amount of 260 million dollars for construction of La Elbita Wind Farm (140MW) in Tandil, Buenos Aires, and Tocota III Solar Farm (60MW), in San Juan. Accordingly, the company will have an installed capacity of over 1GW, an unprecedented milestone in the country.

The company has invested more than 1.2 billion dollars in renewable projects in the last five 5 years and it continues developing projects in support of more organizations driving them to sustainability, and betting on the challenging growth of the corporate market.
