Launched in February 2025, the Malargüe I Solar Farm was originated to satisfy the energy demand of large industrial users, within the framework of the Renewable Energy Term Market. It is Genneia's first photovoltaic project in the province of Mendoza and the fourth at the national level.
The park is located on a 312-hectare site, and its development required an investment of over 90 million dollars. At its peak, it generated 280 indirect jobs, significantly contributing to the economic and social growth of the region.
The photovoltaic panels of the Malargüe I Solar Farm feature bifacial technology, which captures direct sunlight as well as the reflection from the ground, allowing energy generation to increase by up to 10%.
The photovoltaic modules are mounted on trackers that allow better use of the solar resource.
It is a mobile structure with an axis oriented NS, which will allow the monitoring of solar rays in the East-West direction for different hours of the day.
